- Eligibility: Class 12 pass with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology and English; 50% aggregate in PCB (40% SC/ST/OBC, 45% PwD).
- Age: 17 years on or before 31-Dec of the year of admission; no upper limit per Supreme Court ruling.
- Mode: Pen-and-paper (OMR) — not CBT.
- Duration: 3 hours 20 minutes for 200 MCQs (attempt 180; 45 from each of 4 sections).
- Marking: +4 / -1 / 0. Maximum 720.
- Language: 13 languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati and Urdu.
