The bridge for foreign-trained Indian doctors
Conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), FMGE is the qualifying examination that grants you eligibility for State Medical Council registration in India.
- Conducting body: National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS).
- Eligibility: Indian citizens or OCIs with a primary medical qualification (equivalent to MBBS) from a foreign recognised institution + NMC eligibility certificate.
- Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT) — Pearson VUE delivery.
- Structure: Two 150-MCQ papers of 2.5 hours each, taken on the same day.
- Marking: +1 for correct, 0 for incorrect, 0 for unattempted. Maximum 300.
- Pass mark: 150/300 aggregate (50%). No sectional minima.
- Language: English only.
